Dancing at Midnight (2021) is a sculptural piece about hope.
In light of the current isolating circumstances we're all facing, the work embodies body language and gestures as well as the subtle nuances of human communication.
The motions illustrate the joyful interactions between people sharing moments in close proximity and harmony.
During the making process, each element of glass is formed, twisted, and gestured to dance around the space in fluid motions. The components relate and respond to each other–physically, spiritually, and mentally–as we all did before lockdown.
As these elements come together, the piece carries the conversations we have with one another, in hopes of rekindling human connection.
