Tear Drop Vertebrae Earrings - Multiple Colours

This series of Vertebrae earrings are created using antique African record phono beads and sand cast glass beads, the beads are threaded upon stainless wire and then hooped upon my hand made sterling silver findings. The earrings form a mirrored tear drop, both shapes sitting perpendicular to each other so the adorned drop faces your day and night life as you do.

I love this finding design, the hoop sits neatly behind the lobe out of site and you can be rest assured you won't lose your precious earring as it is secured by the hook.

Using carefully sourced reclaimed materials I create patterns, texture and mood within methodical works which take considerable time and care. Whilst my hands work busily I have an opportunity for my mind to wonder, dream and consider many aspects of life. I have always found sanctuary in the act of making and feel very privileged to have been gifted a relationship between self and material as part of my everyday existence. I have been making feverishly throughout these COVID times and feel blessed to have creativity within my core.

Vertebrae - each of the series of small bones forming the backbone, having several projections for articulation and muscle attachment, and a hole through which the spinal cord passes.
